I'm giving 5 stars although I just received it today? I don't know how long it will work properly but by how it looks and works now, the feel of it seems well made, not cheap in any way. As to how it lights up the darkness it's so much better than my Aurora made by Princeton, it's night and day different. The low setting on the Aurora by Arctic is as bright as the high on the Princeton model. High is a torch, not exaggeration. I know if I get stuck out on a trail on a dark night, I'm not going to be in as much trouble with this headlamp. I like the strobe it should attract the attention of people looking for you if your hurt.An update on my review. I purchased two of these, sent one to our Son in AK who hikes a lot. He called telling us he needed more time than expected on the Columbia MT. hike near Kalispell MT. and wound up not getting back till much after dark. He was totally satisfied with the Aurora headlamp. It helped to make his return much safer than the flashlight he normally carries. He thanked me for buying it for him. That made it all worth the money and time sending it to him. If you don't need one for yourself but know someone you like that might need it, it make a real nice present.Hope this helps you make a decision, Phil W.
