After trying and returning another top ranked brand name product, I purchased this GBC laminator and couldn’t be happier with its look, performance, or the appearance of finished lamination products it produces.Compared to others this machine, although large, is nice to look at if left out in an office setting and doesn’t seem “clunky” or get in the way. It has a sleek design with rounded “corners” that don’t get in the way and aren’t easily bumped into.I like that it supports a wide range of pouch thicknesses and products, and that it lets you choose whether automatically detect or manually select the thickness and setting that you want. I’ve owned this machine for 3 months and haven’t had any problems with misfeeds or bubbles in my laminations. The control button placement and graphics are well thought out and makes it easy to understand how to operate the machine. Output is smooth. Unlike the other high end brand I returned, I feel safe using this GBC machine and leaving it out after use. It does not overheat to the touch, cools down in a reasonable time after shutting down (remember big machines like this retain heat and thus naturally take longer to cool down than cheaper portable models), and does not produce any strange odors other than the typical “new electronics” smell the first couple of times it is used.Finished products are of professional quality appearance and justify the cost of the laminator itself. Different quality/brand pouches *could* play into this, but I’ve used various products by GBC, Scotch, and the Amazon house brand and get consistent results.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!Swingline GBC Thermal Laminator Machine, Fusion 7000L ~ I'm not sure why this laminator had so many negative reviews. Maybe the only people leaving reviews were the ones who were frustrated and had a negative experience. I purchased this laminator for $126.37. I received a special price for purchasing a used, but like new product. Despite this... I haven't had any issues. The price for the same laminator on Amazon (new) is $286 at the time of writing this review.I was very impressed with this machine. I purchased based on a few factors. I researched prior to purchase and learned the more rollers the better. This one has six. The laminator warms up in 1 minute. No need to find something else to do while waiting for it to warm up!!! Also, laminating speed was a factor. All these things make the lamination process smooth. As a side note, I purchased another laminator for comparison... it was cheaper and I wanted to see if you could get the same results from a cheaper model. Warm up time for my comparison laminator was 4 minutes. So, you have to find something to do while you wait. Then, when I was laminating, the slot available to feed the sheet was exactly the same and therefore there was no room for error. In other words, on the Swingline GBC, you have 12 inches, but the comparison laminator, only had 9. I used the Swingline GBC first, since it arrived first. It was awesome. I was able to complete all my project in very little time. When the comparison laminator arrived, I tested it. Basically, the problem I had was that the sheets that come with both laminators are the size for printer paper, which is what I wanted and need, but when I put it through the comparison laminator, it was exactly the slot size, and if there was the slightest angle in entering the pouch, then the laminator sheet would go off to the side and I feared that it would crinkle or jam or even just give a poor job. Luckily, even though one of my sheets badly veered to the side on the comparison laminator, it didn't wreck the lamination job. Still, I feel it is possible and could happen. I watched a video on the comparison laminator and there were errors with it, over time. I feel overall, the Swingline GBC will be better for me, because I won't have to be so very careful about lining the pouch up with very little error. The margin for error is so very small on the comparison laminator, which was a nine inch, versus the Swingline GBC 12 inch. So, the size option actually helps. Even though I may only laminate printer paper size, I like the bigger size laminator to give me the room for error. I feel it will virtually eliminate mistakes/jams. I prefer a margin of error. Also, another comparison that I really liked with the Swingline GBC vs. the comparison laminator was the speed. The comparison model was slower. I wouldn't mind it being slow (as much) if the warm up time was faster on the comparison model. The Swingline GBC was 1 minute warm up time and the comparison model was four minutes. The comparison laminator was smaller. So, that part I did like. The Swingline GBC is quite large. Also, for some reason on the comparison laminator, when I laminated a sheet of paper that had been folded the sheet came out laminated, but still bent and not completely straight where the paper had been folded.A couple of month's and I've definitely already gotten my ROI on this product. Excellent laminator especially considering it does 10 mil.If you can afford this laminator, it really is the best one on the market. I tried out two other laminators from another company and they both failed during the first couple of weeks. This laminator is built to withstand a lot more. My wife love's this and uses it almost daily for in-home preschool use.Died after 37 monthsHad a small crack on the back otherwise it's a great machine for a what I need it to do.I received the Swingline GBC Laminator Fusion 7000L today. It is a heavy unit. It seems to be a quality made product. I couldn't understand the minimal instructions so I just tuned it on. Seconds later it indicated it had warmed up. I placed my document in a pouch and fed it in. It is super quick. The finished product was beyond my expectations. It is what I had hoped for and it delivered. I whole heartedly recommend this product. P.S. I did receive a damaged laminator that Amazon replaced within 2 days. Why can't electronic devices last longer than their warranty? I am so frustrated. Spent more than $200 on a laminator because I thought it would last longer than a cheap one. I laminated approximately 50 sheets over the course of 2 years and the product quit. I am reluctant to buy another, even though I could really use it. I guess those of us who use laminators are better off going to an office supply store for this service.Stopped working on sheet 53 (4 sheets into a second batch from new) with error E4. QR code on error code goes to Google URL shortener and gives a page not found. Website support just says to call for errors E1-E4. Piece of junk. After 24 hours tried again. Found it useful to lower speed in settings by as much as possible. This have better laminating for the 10 mil pouches. Have not seen error again but only completed that second batch with additional 20 sheets. It's an OK laminator. The first one I had failed within a few months and this one I will use only as a backup to my larger one.Des messages d'erreurs dès la première utilisation.Excellent
