First album from Germany's Horst With No Name, who styles himself 'a one man international band'. Horst (real name Ingo Muller) comes over like a cross between Iggy Pop and 50's Elvis - plenty of rockabilly, mixed in with garage and punk. It's all stripped-down-to-basics stuff, but there's still plenty of dynamic light and shade, plus some interesting tempo changes to create a really, really good, eclectic album.So, if you want a stonking, 'raw as a shredded throat' type of record, then this is just perfect. 'Boogie Machine' rocks, 'My Name Is Horst' rolls, 'Baby Crazy' stomps, 'Rock 'N' Roll Man' roars; it's got the true spirit of rock 'n' roll stamped all over it. Excellent.
