Stackpole and DE set up in a machine shop for a 3 day recording session. The sounds were then amplified, rectified and organized. One more recording session and a whole lot of subtle tweakages later, Machine Shop is born. This will put to rest any speculation that gong records must all sound the same. At once visceral, muscular, musical, soothing and surprising.
