The red is a bit lighter in shade in person - like more in the medium red apple category versus the darker brick red color shown in photo. This is fine with us but it may not be for others. It's not very thick but the material is very soft. This rug fits our office space nicely and blends well with the light wooden floor. Would definitely recommend!This is a nice quality rug.
