After being told to give up coffee because of the effects of the coffee's acid on the stomach I was pretty down and out. Starting the day without a cup of coffee is kinda like starting the day without breathing. It just doesn't work that well! So I set out to find a coffee that not only was easy on the stomach but had a great taste. Puroast Low Acid Coffee is now my morning companion. There is also a caffeine free variety, but I have not tried it yet because the effects of the caffeine in this coffee are hardly noticable. Reviews for the caffeine free product were not as high, so I decided to start out with the caffeine variety and ease into the change. But I'm glad to report the change was not difficult at all. If you suffer from stomach issues or just want to improve your diet then this coffee can work for you. Also, the price is very doable. After researching several low acid products I soon realized that I could possibly be investing my retirement account into these products. That knowledge alone was pretty tough to stomach. So the Puroast brand is not only a good product as far as taste but also a great buy!I have a really sensitive stomach for coffee. I love it, it does not love me. I've tried all kinds of different brands, was using Folgers for a long time since the Colombian is pretty mild.I've started getting hypertension headaches that always seem to turn into migraines. I can't drink normal coffee AND take OTC migraine medication, the combo makes me very ill. I realized that it was giving me a sour stomach so I wondered if a coffee with less acidity would help. I wasn't even sure such a thing existed. I searched Amazon and found Puroast.I was really surprised. It tastes like regular coffee (I was expecting it to taste milder), stronger than the Folgers I was used to even. Honestly, if you've ever had Green Mountain Coffee Roasters this tastes like their medium roast blends. So good!It comes in ground, whole beans and k-cups so any way you want it! And at $13 for 2 bags it's a GREAT price.I like it so much I signed up for auto-delivery every 2 months (and saved 5% which is exciting!).I recently had a European visitor who LOVES coffee but has a sensitive stomach stay with me for 6 weeks. We could not get the German brand she'd been using, so we tried Puroast. We prepared our Puroast coffee in an Aeropress or via single-cup pour-thru (with Millita brown filter), and it was indeed stomach friendly, and still tasted like real coffee. When she finished the first two bags, she had me order more right away.>> UPDATE 5 months later -- It's mid-Dec and my Euro friend is back and I ordered more Puroast for her. I just noticed, the expiration date on the two new bags is mid-January, only ONE MONTH from when I received it. Pathetic! (As a reference, the bags I ordered in July had the same exact expiration date -- mid-January -- which was 6 months from date I received it.) I'm deleting a star for that.Just ordered a 40 oz bag of decaf for her. Curious to see how short the expiration date is for that one. Check your expiration dates, leave a comment.I really wanted to like this coffee. We could very much use an affordable low acid choice, but this isn't it. To be fair, it was really good on the low acid claim which is the reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1. The problem is that the process that removed the acid left a harsh brew behind with grounds that became a solid paste in the bottom of my French press. I tried mixing about a quarter of this with some light roast and the taste was still noticeable. I don't throw away coffee ever if it can be salvaged or disguised but even my husband, the least picky food person I know, said to throw it all out and chalk up the loss to experience. We will continue to drink light roast store brand from Whole Foods for $5/12 oz with fairly low acid and spend the savings on antacids as needed.Awesome coffee! With my sensitive stomach I thought I would have to give up coffee forever. A co-worker mentioned she bought low acid coffee. I figured it was worth a try. I checked the options on Amazon and decided to try this coffee. Delicious!!! I work in a laboratory and decided to do my own pH testing. I tested this coffee vs. DD coffee. My Puroast was definitely a low acid version of coffee when compared to the DD cup of coffee. So given my scientific results and my opinion of this brand being delicious tasting coffee, you can't go wrong!!!still takes a bit funny. To be fair would like to try another type by this mfgr. to see if tastes any better. To be honest, seemed to be lower acid, less GERD-like effects than 1/2 caff coffee. (less throat clearing, one of MY symptoms...) Would like to see a reasonably priced (is that an oxymoron?) coffee made with beans produced at a lower elevation. I have read that the lower the elevation, the less the acid, naturally, whatever truth there is to that bit. This coffee seemed a bit on the weak side, even compared to Folgers 1/2 caff. I have tried using more coffee, and it gets bitter.I tried this product in an effort to help deal with the effects of gastric reflux, thinking that it's lower acid would help. I really believe it did. You can tell from the first sip that there is a difference, yet it still has all the qualities that you want from coffee. It's definitely worth a try.The flavor taste so good!! I will buy again❤❤❤
