I bought the one that clamps to the table, not the suction cup. I've also never used one before but did some research.I bought a chuck roast and sliced it into 1 inch chunks....fat and all. Put the chunks in a 9x9 baking pan and then into the freezer for 15 to 25 minutes. I also froze the grinder. It really does help. Sprayed a little cooking spray into the hopper when it would get stiff and it worked itself through. I did a 3 pound roast in 30 minutes. And that's putting the red meat through first on the large grind. Then the fat. Do a little mix of the two and put through the fine grind. To clean it I ran a hot dog bun through then broke it down, and washed the parts. Hand wash. Fairly easy to clean. It comes with a brush and I also used a bottle brush I had to clean the main body. I hand dried it all just because I don't want any rust but I don't think this will. Not sure about making sausage with this unless I have someone to crank it while I fill the casings, but I could see it working. Over all..... I've never done it before but I didn't feel as though I was working too hard. The screw is very heavy and pulls the meat right through. With more practice or even some help this thing is awesome. Do clamp to a stable table or counter. But even on my wabbly table it worked. Like I said....I didn't get the suction cup model.
