I bought the 110v 2.2kw VFD to run my 110v 1.5kw spindle motor. My spindle motor is a true 2HP motor, with an amp rating of 12amp. (Beware of underrated spindle motors; 8amps will not give you 2HP at the shaft, unless it's 220v).I purposely over rated the vfd. The one question I have about the tag on the side of the vfd is that it reads: "2.2kw 12.5A". The specifications in the manual reads:"H100c 2.2kw, 20A". So, I don't know if the tag is misprinted, or if they're erring on the side of caution. I'm not worried, because the manual says that their 1.5kw vfd is rated at 12.5 - 17amps.Having said that, I'm very happy with how it's running the spindle. I've cut ebony wood, which is not only extraordinarily hard, but contains minerals, and the spindle went though it like it was air. So, I know the vfd is operating it beautifully. There's barely a whisper from the spindle.I've used a tachometer and I've tested the rpms of the spindle vs vfd setting/readout at 6000, 9000, 12000, 18000, and 24000rpm. The vfd is running the spindle to within minus 35-50rpms, erring on the side of caution, and that's certainly good enough for me.You will need to go through your programming to get what you want. Mine came defaulted to display frequency. It took me a while to figure out why it seemed to be 40% off when displaying rpms (it was frequency lol). I only figured it out when I turned up the spindle speed to max. and saw "r400". "r" means "frequency" NOT rpms!If you're having problems getting your motor to run at various speeds, be advised you MUST set f005 to your maximum spindle frequency FIRST and you need to set f008 to maximum spindle voltage. If you don't do this, the vfd won't let you go beyond 50hrz.To change the readout defalt to display and controlling by rpms, you have to program f170 to #2 (operation speed), then program f185 to #4 (designated by f170).The manual is very inclusive, even for me and I've never owned a vfd. If all else fails, f013 will set the vfd programming back to factory default. Start again.But, other than setting your motor's voltage, frequency, min and max rpms, it's pretty straight forward.It's nice having the control panel on the cnc, where I can make small adjustments. The Ribbon connecting it to the vfd is a couple of meters long.
