I just bought this on July 1, 2024, received it July 2, 2024, and took it camping with is on July 3,2024. So I cannot speak of how long it runs or it's durability. I can only speak from my experience. So camping. Really we stayed in an air conditioned cabin at a state park in Texas. We had the AC on 70°, but the cabin was usually close to 77° due to the doors being opened and shut almost constantly by grandkids. Plus the kitchen area was facing west-northwest, so got a lot of afternoon sun, directly shining on the ice maker. We used the ice maker from the time we got there until we left. It was not running constantly because we weren't in the cabin constantly, but if someone was there, it was running. With 10 people, including 4 kids, it kept us in ice for 4 full days! Instead of buying a couple bags of ice per day, we had ice at the ready the whole time!Super easy to use. Very low noise. It easily saved us $30 in ice, plus more in time and gas. So I'd consider it an excellent value. I paid around $60 for it and it's already paid for itself in one week!
