I recieved my Bluearc 140msi Mig/Stick welder on a Friday. I was, still am, impressed with the overall quality and fit and finish of the unit. The only thing I found wanting was the short ground lead, terminated with a cheap jumper cable clamp. I set the welder up with .030 solid steel wire and a gas tank with pure co2. My first welds, even with the crappy ground clamp were excellent, zero, yes, zero spatter sticking to the coupon. This is an excellent light duty welder for the quick repairs that crop up with regularity. The trigger is two stage, turning the shielding gas on first, allowing for purging the whip of air before welding. Squeeze the trigger a little harder and wire is fed and welding begins. A nice refinement. The digital readouts are bright and easy to read. There is the option of setting the voltage and current manually, or allowing the welder balance voltage, current and wire speed automatically. Both modes worked flawlessly for me and I will likely leave it in the synergic mode for most welds. Now, you'll need a welding gas setup if you're planning to weld with other than fluxcore wire. That doesn't come included. I replaced the ground clamp and cable with 10 feet of #4 cable and a Tweco style clamp. You might be happy with the ground as recieved, I was not. Overall, I am blown away at the quality and performance of a welder at that price point.
