I gave thickness rating 5 stars because I was looking for a thinner item this is lightweight it is on the thinner side you cannot see through it though and softness I gave four stars because I have not washed it yet it is like my childhood chenille bedspread I am over the moon now I'm one side of my bed it only goes about halfway to the floor but my bad is 18 in plus it sits on a platform if I believe5 or 8 in I am impressed once again thank you all who helped by answering my question and I am very happy with my purchase going to buy some of the shamsI bought a king for my queen bed and it fits perfect. I hate coverlets or quilts-just really dislike the look and need for more fussy skirts or stuff. I have had chenille spreads most of my life because of many reasons: the look, you can wash the (and should often) and the weight. They are just enough all year by adding a blanket in winter and doesn’t weight 10 lbs so you feel suffocated.You should wash this multiple times and it will stop shedding. Takes about 4 washes before it stops. If you have allergies or asthma I can’t stress how important it is to wash your bedding often.This design is more modern than flowers or other designs and looks perfect with my contemporary bedroom suite.I have wanted a Chenille bedspread for a long time. Living in Arizona we needed a bedspread/comforter that is light weight and cool. This one totally worked! My only mistake was that I usually buy a King-Size comforter/bedspread for our Queen bed to make sure it covers well. I bought a King size here and it is MUCH too large. I should have gotten a Queen Size. I probably should have returned for the smaller size but I just loved it too much.Great lightweight bed cover. I have a king size and it hangs halfway to floor on both sides of bed. Wish it were a bit longer. Easy to wash tho!For a full size $70 spread, I would have THOUGHT that the shams (PICTURED!) we’re INCLUDED! This is going RIGHT back TOMORROW!!!!! I’ll go to Bed. Bath& Beyond!!!!! WHAT a LETDOWN!!!!! (only gave one star because I HAD to ?)I love this bedspread- I was looking for something light that I could use in the summer, but I am also putting warm fluffy blankets under it for the winter. My dog chewed a hole in it, so I’m buying a new one I like it so much. The sage color is a really nice muted green.I’m so happy. I wish I had two or three more.I love my yellow bedspread; it is like sunshine in my bedroom. Chenille bedspreads were on our 4 beds when I was a child.
