Like many other reviewers, I listened to some of this music when I was a kid. I do not remember seeing the DVDs (obviously, they would have been VHS or Beta back then, right?), but I definitely remember the goofy music and the important, character building themes and am emphasis on humility, love, kindness, gentleness, patience, goodness, etc. There is something about listening -- and not watching -- that requires one to use their imagination in a way that DVDs and TV simply don't achieve.Flash forward about 30 years. I got these CDs for my little ones a couple years ago (ages 7, 4, 3 and 10 months) to listen. They love them and are frankly pretty obsessed! There is a lot of music here and I also like the fact that it is not "overdone" -- you can tell somewhat that it was created without the benefit of all the computerized sounds of today. In a way, I would say that it is more "authentic," but I realize that just sounds old-fashioned. At any rate, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this great music!
