The concept of the story: a secret society of hunters and runners, where the runners get shot and heal overnight, intrigued me. The book sound to me like 'Do androids dream of electric sheep' or a Chasm City. The story started well and the setting was well created.Yet, the book itself was rather a disappointment. It felt to me that the author started with many great ideas but lost focus throughout the story.- Many ideas weren't worked out - e.g. why are there implications if runners don't show up; where does the society come from; why does the society remains to exist- Story lacks speed and too much paragraphs are spend on trivial events - e.g. the journey from the hospital to home take too long;- Too many characters that don't contribute to the main story (e.g. Milo's state doesn't really fit the story; constant swearing of the crooks to make them look mean)- The end of the story is...well.... ridiculousThe result is a story which feels like a it was put together based on a bunch of random ideas and notes. The book would have been much better, If the runner&hunter concept was worked out better; and the more time was spend on the society.
