The product description is a bit deceiving. There is some solid elm in the top, but only on the border. The majority of the table is a cheaper thin oak plywood which gives a hollow sound when you place something on it. I could have lived with it, but the table arrived with multiple scratches and dents, so I returned it. Not worth replacing.
