Oh what a joy it is to need to clean carpets, with rainy season, teenagers, a puppy and cream colored rugs... My stairs were the complaint of my house, but then we got a puppy. So here it goes. First of all, this thing is super easy to use, good cord length, very self explanatory, add water to one tank, plus cleaning solution, attach head and you're off and cleaning. I will truthfully say, I didn't expect what this little power house did. My bar was set relatively low but I needed to try it. I filled the tank and when the tank was empty, the dirty water tank WAS dirty, yay, but what impressed me was the fact that the dirty water tank was nearly as full as the clean water tank was when I started. Not exact of course but close! This tells me that my rugs will dry quickly and that the suction on this is excellent. I used it with the Hoover restore carpet cleaner, although it did come with sample bottles, I didn't know and I had ordered the shampoo. Every single spot is gone. Every single spot! I have so much more to tell you. Ok so the little suction head thingy has these rubbery silicone material teeth below the sucky area so when you're moving the head it actually lifts the pile and makes your rug all fluffy. I knew from the description that the hose was self cleaning but man that's just cool.So it's time to clean up, I go to the sink, open up the bottom of the dirty tank, which I could have just opened the little easy empty tab but, well, I wanted to see how well I could clean it up. I want it to last. Every single part was cleanable! I mean every part, so I take of the bottom of the dirty tank, rinse those parts and pieces, disconnect the sucky head, run how water through that, when I see the tab, even THAT opens more to fully rinse it out, then I push the hose (without the head) into the self cleaning part, hit the power button and I see the remaining clean water rush through the hose and into the dirty tank. So I rinsed the tank again. Next time I'll do that step before I empty the dirty tank. Nice, neat, tidy and compact so it fit right on the shelf in my garage. But I do have one tiny kind of complaint. When pressing the trigger to spray out the cleaning solution, it doesn't totally just stop spraying when I let go of the trigger so I had to press the other side to stop it. If you don't love holding down the trigger, this could be a cool feature for you, but for me, I press when I want it to spray and let go when I don't. Its almost like an on/off switch, on to spray, but I had to press the "off" side to stop. Overall very very happy. It removed way more water from the rug than my big full sized machine. I'm a fan. Hope this helps.
